The Greens Committee and Board of Directors has elected to allow the use of
electronic distance-measuring devices in all club events for 2008. Players will
be permitted to use measuring devices that provide information on distance only.
DG&CC is joined by the Westchester, Long Island, and Metropolitan Golf
Associations in adopting this Local Rule for selected events.

The decision to permit the use of electronic distance-measuring devices was made
in accordance with USGA Decision 14-3/0.5 to the Rules of Golf adopted in 2006.
The Decision authorizes a committee to adopt a Local Rule allowing the use of
distance-measuring devices. The Local Rule prohibits the use of a device capable
of gauging or measuring other conditions that might affect play (i.e. gradient,
wind speed, temperature, etc.), regardless of whether such a function is used.
Distance-measuring devices are considered equipment under the Rules of Golf and
may be carried by the caddie or shared by opponents and fellow competitors. For
handicap purposes, as in the past, eligible scores made with distance-measuring
devices must be posted.

GHIN HANDICAP SYSTEM

All golfing members will have two numbers, which will be found on lists in each Locker Room and the Pro Shop, next to the computers. The shorter number will be used at the Club only and the longer number is to be used when you are anywhere else, away from the club - even at your home.  To access the System - go to www.ghin.com and insert your 4 digit number, if at the club. Use the longer number, when away from the club.
